I use the pill.....I find it relatively easy and convenient. The type of pill I use has changed over time because my body and hormone levels changed over time....the best bet is to talk with a doctor you trust to come up with the method of birth control that best suits you.
Birth control is an incredibly private decision, and you should learn more about the various types available so you can make an informed decision...there are side effects to consider with some. If you dont have a gynecologist that you feel comfortable with, I would suggest going to planned parenthood. They have counselors who will educate you on the pros and cons of each type of birth control and explain EXACTLY how each is used...they are also very sensitive with their clients (at least from what I have seen). Good luck.

I take seasonale. I have not had any side effects with this pill and have enjoyed the fact that I only have a period once every three months. I am sure there are other great ones out there that include the "ring" and shots...but I can not stand shots and can not stand the thought of the ring!

I used the Ortho Evra patch for a 1.5 years and I never had any problems with it but I kept seeing all the news reports about blood clots because it does have a LOT of hormones in it (more then the pill) so I stopped using it.
I switched to "Alesse" which is now "Avian" for me and it's great, low hormones and I haven't had a single problem in the many months I've been using it. I enjoy taking the pill more then the patch.

I've been on Norinyl 1+35 (or any of its many generic equivalents) for years and years with no negative side effects.
