you left out the Phillies and the Reds. They're both still alive (if barely hanging on). With that said, I think that it will come down to the Dodgers and the Padres with the Dodgers edging out the Padres due to the better hitting. The Padres do have the edge in pitching, but Derek Lowe has been dominant the last two months of the season, and the Dodgers bullpen has been better of late with Broxton setting Saito up. Plus, Kuo has been filthy as the Dodgers #4 starter, so they'll be okay with him in the rotation if Penny's back keeps him out of the first round.
I am a Dodger fan, so take this with a grain of salt.
GO DODGERS!!!!!!!

Mets are done. There Ace is dead. They are going to have a rotation with 2 No Losers, an old Glavine, and Orlando Hernandez? Please. That is not a NL champion rotation.
The Cardinals havn't played good for a month.
And the Dodgers own the Padres.----just check September 18th.
LA ALL THE WAY BABY!!!
GO DODGERS!

Mets will still win with or without Pedro. I think the Dodgers are the most dangerous threat to them, but if the Astros do get in, they could also be tough.

Despite my Queens roots I have to go with the Dodgers. Pitching and defence win championships. the Mets have the D but when you lose your stud pitcher for the season you've lost 6-8 potential starts enroute to winning a WS and that's a lot.

If the Astros make it into the playoffs I say it would be them (there red hot and with Clemens, Oswalt, and Pettitte coming one after another they are hard to beat), but if they don't I say it would be the Mets just because they have the best offence in the National League.

The Padres have the best pitching, as long as they don't rely on fat David Wells. Their offense has improved lately as well. They could be difficult to beat in the first round wth Jake Peavy, Chris Young, and Woody Williams or Clay Hensley.

The N.L looks like the Mets, but it could be one of the N.L. West teams or the Phillies. History shows that the teams that fight they're way in do good in the playoffs

I'll take the Mets, but losing Pedro hurts.

The Cardinals will step it up and dominate in the playoffs. They will finally find their groove and shut down every opponent in their path.
