Vitiligo. He was diagnosed with it in the mid-80s.
This skin-disease creates a loss of pigmentation all over the body. It can occur any time in a person's life and the degree of seriousness varies.
In the case of Michael Jackson, he had to use makeup to even it out - I mean, c'mon he is a world-wide entertainer - Appearance is very important.
His makeup artist since 1982, Karen Faye, has told us this herself.
If you doubt his blackness, just ask him and he'll tell you how proud he is of being African-American. Not once in his entire life has he said anything against his own people - and on the contrary, he praises them all the time. He is damn proud to be black.

I've known quite a few people with Vitiligo and they never went all solid creamy white like he has. I don't know anything about the treatments or if people can permanently bleach their skin all over but if so, he could afford it.
If he really does have that disease he may have done it to make it an even color... although I wouldn't put it past him to do it on purpose.
It's actually sad that he hated his appearance so much he's changed into what he is today. Vitiligo or not, he's changed his entire appearance to the point he looks like a scared old white woman.
He used to be so handsome. I think instead of plastic surgery he should have gotten therapy to undo the damage his father (or SOMEONE) must have done. Poor fellow.

I doubt it's from vitiligo. Usually when a person has it it's only in certain spots, not the whole body. He probably had his skin lightened by doctors or uses skin creams to make his skin appear light.

If he does have this disease it seems like he has very, very unusual case. Shouldn't it be more blotchy and inconsistent rather than perfectly uniform? I believe he has this disease as much as I believe he's only had ONE plastic surgery. Come on, people. He should sue those plastic surgeons. That nose they gave him is really freaky. He's just gross.

It has to be make-up. Haven't you ever watched Dave Chappell play a white guy? Michael is playing one in real life. Bless his crazy heart.
