paper if im holding one bag of groceries, but plastic if i have a bunch of bags i need to hold at once, that way its easier to hold.

If it is for groceries use plastic. When you take paper home from the store you can bring cockroach eggs into your home (they are in the glue that fastens the bottom of the bag and feed off that)

plastic because you can carry more at one time and the bags are great for using as trash bags.
