I believe they are native to South America and though they seem quite slow and docile their claws are quite sharp and dangerous.

You would struggle to be legitimately allowed to keep one I believe, however you could always try to become more involved at your local zoo.

Black market, but it'd be an utter waste of money. It would attack you, escape, or possibly die and there's a pretty good chance you'd be busted for illegal possession of an exotic animal. Tree sloths are not like dogs, they are wild animals with special needs that no untrained individual can come close to meeting.

That would be awesome!!! I would love to make my apartment a jungle and have a Sloth running around hanging from Trees! I think that you would have to try and smuggle one through customs in your suitcase!!LOL Great Question though!

Good: the sloth only goes to the bathroom once a week.
Bad: they are so slow, plants grow on them. Instead of sending him to a groomer, hired a professional garderner and have him weed-wacked!

Um I would think that this would be impossible, I really do. Call your local zoo and ask, crazy things have been allowed. Or, if they are allowed, let us know on here so we will not feel stupid to stop people from having dreams come true....
