Depends on what you want/like.

I like Playing By Heart with Gillian Anderson and Angelina Jolie. It's a movie that makes you think.

I think it's cool you and your daughter are having a girl's night. There should be more mom's like you.

Some good chick flicks are: Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, which is surprisingly touchinng and The Notebook which is romantic and engrossing. The couple (Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams) have amazing chemistry.

If you or your daughter is into something more edgy or quirky check out: The Royal Tennenbaums or Donnie Darko.

A wonderful sci fi thriller is Dark City... 12 Monkeys is also very good.

A good old fashion thriller is Blood Simple.

Believe it or not...
Any of the Inuyasha Anime Moves would be an interesting and fun choice. If you can get the first one, that would be great, but they all recap the basic story: great characters with lots of courage and the heroin is a 14 year old girl named Kagome who knows how to deal with life in the feudal era. If you are looking for something just as touching, but perhaps a bit more mature you could try Princess Monanokie or Spirited Away.

I think you both would love Last Holiday with Queen Latifah. The movie is sooo fun, and funny and heartwarming...the perfect movie for girls night in. I also like Sweet Home Alabama... that one's been on my mind lately.

"Imitation of Life" - "Sabrina", old & new - "Phantom of the Opera" - "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" - "Fried Green Tomatoes" - "How to Lose a guy in 10 Days" - "Sound of Music" - ok - after you rent - get a few of those cheap facial masks in the packet @ the market - fun & they work. Have fun - good Mom :)

Failure to Launch is a good movie. My daughter liked it. She also liked Just My Luck, but I didn't think it was that good.
