The SEC is only arguably the best conference in college football, it has not locked the best conference yet. The Big 10 and the ACC are right up there with the SEC. Maybe not the ACC this year, but they'll be back.
As far as Chris Leak, he may be the best QB in the SEC, but lets take a step back here...the SEC is a running conference. Most teams go both ways, but they all at least attempt to set up the run. Leak simply does not get enough passing attempts to put up the stats necessary to get recognized. Without stats he would need to win a championship in order to get noticed, and he has done neither.

i can tell you why because he was the number 1 rated quarterback as a freshman and he hasnt become a matt leinhart or a vince young. dont get me wrong im a gator fan and yes chris leak is the best quarterback in the sec but he has not become amazing like evreyone tought but dont worry people will know who he is after the year is over and he is part of the 2006 national championship team.

I think it has to do with the fact that he was incredibly inconsistent last season. In the losses to Alabama and LSU last season, he didn't throw for a single touchdown, and his QB rating in each game was under 50.
He's been great this season, but I think the jury is still out on him. He needs to keep up his play for a whole season before I'd consider him truly elite.

Not sure, he is having a great year and on a good team. He got booed at home. that's pretty sad.

Well ESPN loves him and I don't know why. I personally think he is overrated but I am a Tennessee fan so of course I think that.

i like leak. but he's been inconsistent since his freshman year. he looks to have it together this year though and will probably silence most of his critics.
