I went for a gyno appt. and the physician made several remarks that I found rude.
He had me on the exam table and told me to spread my knees far apart and then he looked at me and said, "I know you can do better than that!"
I had told him during the beginning of the exam that I work for an Equal Employment Opportunity office, and after he finished the exam, he asked me, "so you work for EEO, How do you handle sensitivity to Sexual Deviance?"

WHAT THE HELL DID HE MEAN BY THOSE REMARKS?

I don't know what he meant by the remarks he made but they were extremely inappropriate. Write down exactIy what transpired in chronological order before you forget anything. Then I suggest you contact your local AMA and state medical licensing board and report exactly what happened. These organizations may decide to conduct an investigation and possibly impose sanctions. This may not be the first time this doctor has crossed the line.

Okay, I've been in the situation where a doctor says something very questionable, so I know it can be upsetting. But, I honestly didn't find those comments to be rude, per se. I don't even really understand the last one. In the end, though, you should probably switch doctors because you don't feel comfortable with this one. You need a gynecologist you trust. I don't agree with the other responders that he is necessarily a pervert. I will concede that he needs to use better judgment though, because he is in a delicate situation there in a gynecologist's practice and should realize that there are sue-happy people out there.

I suggest not going back to that Dr. I don't think his remarks could get him in trouble but I'm sure they made you feel akward.

Was there a nurse in the room?
I had issues once with a gyno...he creeped me out, unfortunatly I was too young to understand that I could have gotten him in a lot of trouble...I never went back, but I still think about it sometimes...it's been over 10 years...

how long have you gone to this Dr.and if your dentist would say that to you would you be offended.maybe just maybe you were a little uptight about getting an exam and you did imply that it was a male,if it were a female Dr would you feel the same.you need to look at yourself and maybe you would be more comfortable.i do feel that a woman gyn is more sensitive to another woman's problems or feelings

he was calling you a s!ut, he just did an exam on you and found that some things aren't as they should - outside of the norm, as your exam exemplified. He was saying your sexual behavior is outside of the norm. And when you spread your legs, he said he knew you could do better because those legs have to be FAR apart, as far as they can go.
He was not hitting on you, your sexual behavior (based on the exam) is deviant from norms.

sorry!

I think he was trying to get you to relax during your exam. The last question seemed a little out of line though. I can't answer for him but it wasn't appropriate. Find another Doctor

I'm not sure what he meant, but I suggest finding a different gyno. What he said to you is not just rude, but unprofessional and uncalled for.

Definitely change your doctor -- his bedside manner needs a lot of work. Sorry you experienced this!
