Compliment the company ( bank ) by saying you have heard nice things about them and have been wanting to work there for some time . Even if pressed to state your less complimentary points , do not be eager to do so . In other words , play down your "weak" points ; and readily volunteer your strong points . Before you arrive , mentally detail all your duties ( no matter how small ) from your last job . Most of all , be flexible ; dependable and do not run down your former place of business . Appear very confident ; but humble .

I worked in a bank's corporate department, and I can tell you, what they need is Honesty and Attention to Detail. Those are the most important qualities a teller can have. Besides, looking nice and being professional is a huge plus too!

1. Be professional - in manner & dress
2. Answer the questions asked, don't stray from the point
3. Be particularly focused if you are asked "why you think you'd make a good teller"
4. Be friendly to ensure your potential customer service skills will shine.
5. Be yourself!
6. If you have no experience, be honest, but let them know you are eager for the opportunity, and you are a quick study.
7. I can not stress enough that you be yourself, you smile and you present a professional and friendly demeanour!

Jess, my wife is a bank teller that will be home from work at 5:30 est, she could e-mail ya if ya send your s to sweendog67Verizon.net anyway, tellers are a high rate turnover job and usually don't pay well, but they offer to pay for school related to finance... Anyway, If ya have a nice smile and can count money then you should get the job, just relax and be your self.... My wife and I are going to a local HS football game tonight..Big rivals are playing us, riverside host the pizza capitol of the world Old Forge Blue Devils... We will win... So if ya wanna chat she should be home around 10 est.

Pretty fail proof plan to get a job as a bank teller

1)have a pulse
2)be friendly and on time at the interview
3)pass the timed test they likely give you which will measure how quickly you can do some basic transactions and data entry (please note you will pass this test if you pass qualification #1 - have pulse)

Do NOT tell them about that time you robbed that bank... bad idea!

But in all honesty, just be polite and curteous with the interviewer, do not be nervous at all (I.e., don't play with your hands, don't shake, do look them straight in the eye when answering). Try to convey that you are trustworthy without making it seem like you're trying to convery that you're trustworthy :) .

Good luck!

bring a deck of cards. Tell your interviewer to pull out a card, with the premise that your card will be bigger than theres. From your lap pull the hidden Ace of spaids out of your lap and say "HA HA I ACED THIS INTERVIEW WHEN DO I START". Bring monopoly money to demonstate your prowess with counting and handling money.

Be yourself and play up any accomplishments you have had in other positions. Listen, and treat the interviewer with utmost respect. Don't ask about time off or vacations or holidays, it shows that youre more interested in time off than in working.

Sales is a big part of the job. Play up any prior sales jobs you may have had.
