I have had issues with people most of my 20's because I feel like I do right but the sickos do me wrong. In the adult world people won't tell you why they don't like you, its more cruel than elementary school where you got called a name or something. My advice is to train your mind to overlook the bad ones so you won't miss the good ones. There is a sadist in everyone including me and you.

Because they're afraid.
People seek to remedy their fear through power-grabbing (bullies, dictators etc) insulting, excluding, and by ignoring other people. It's because they're afraid, they fear themselves or the unknown or being outcast.

A kind of 'get them before they get you' thing.
The rest of the time it is greed.
