I'm keen to start giving my six month old baby yoghurt. Are there any health issues?

Get yobaby yogurt- I'd say around 6 months old is ok.

I started my son @ 6 months or so and I used Yo-Baby yogurt, it is organic and is made with whole milk. My son had tons of ear infections (which ended in ear vents/tubes) but he was on a lot of antibiotics. I don't think there are any health issues, my doc recommend it.

You can introduce yougurt at the same time you intruduce cows milk which should be 1 year old. A child less than a year supposedly can not digest cows milk at this point. You may want to ask your dr. about the soy yougurts and see if they are ok for right now.

Cow's milk protein, which can cause allergies, is broken down in both yogurt and cheese. This means that it is safe to introduce either of these foods from 6 months.

At one year of age, children can be introduced to dairy foods. An introduction sooner may result in an allergy or an intolerance to dairy. I, personally, feel that giving very limited 'tastes" would be okay. However, I would talk to the doctor first.

They can eat the mini go's (they are a cheese product) not Yogurt. They can not have milk based yogurt until they are drinking homo milk (9 months to a year old).

I would suggest waiting until the baby is a year old, to help avoid dairy allergies. My children loved the soy version when they were babies.

Both of mine started when they went of food. Right about 4-5 months. Plain of course.

Well , they say not to give the child cow's milk until 1 year, isn't that right? Shouldn't you wait on yogurt until then as well? I would ask the pediatrician.
