Should I get the nightlife one, the university one, or wait for the animal one? Which do you prefer?

Depends on what you're looking for.
Nightlife = if you want to have cars and do some more stuff outside.
University = if you want to have more of a "party" thing with your young adults
Animal = if you don't really care about cars and partying, but the thought of having (goodness knows how many) animals running around the house sounds most entertaining.

I have all that are currently available.
University is okay, if you like going to school.
Nightlife is a bit of a let down. It has some cool stuff like the car and the night district.
My favourite is Open for Business where you take your sim to work, build stuff and sell it to other sims, open shops and shopping malls etc.

why not get them all! the sims are amazing!! keeps you occupied for hours.
