Sounds like the person who stated it was trying to say that you will always be in your childhood no matter how hard you try to make the transition to adulthood, its just something that will always be their no matter what, so dont spend so much time trying to grow up, because what you were as a child will always reflect through the new stuff. Just go with it and you will realize you'll be fine.

Definitely true for me. I guess it depends on how good or bad someone's childhood as to whether it fits for them or not. If someone had a great childhood and it was beneficial to them, then childhood would be what they spend the rest of their lives being successful (in whatever way you choose to define that) from.

Sounds like a quote from someone who needs to move on, it's hard to overcome something when you continue to dwell on something. I think if you have a bad childhood, you can't let it ruin your life by continuing to let it trivialize the rest of your life, you must overcome.

Sounds like someone had a hard time trying to accept being an adult. I don't know anyone who wants to overcome childhood, not inculding children.

I would love to able to again become the unencumbered free spirited child I once was...so no I'm not trying to overcome my childhood but get a taste of how free that time in life was...

Christ said "Suffer the little children to come unto me, for such is the Kingdom of God."
That tells me keeping abit of your childhood in your Hear and Mind all the days of your life is a good thing.
