That's true, life is NOT a fashion show, BUT... people are always going to be judged based on their looks. If you don't look good, you will be more likely to be overlooked for a job, you'll be treated rudely more often, and you'll make less money over your lifetime (they have done studies to prove this!)

Why do people have to be obsessed with looks, if they just want to go out of the house looking decent?
And no life isn't a fashion show, but you still have other people looking at you and making judgements.
Why not make a good impression without saying a word?
I've had someone ask me this question before, in person, may I add that she was extremely poor and most likely jealous.

I agree, some people get up two hours extra in the morning just to look good to go to the store,school, ect. In my opinion this generation is alot more slutty/preppy/stupid then the other years. All everyone thinks about is how they look or act. They don't see the more important things in life. Girls buy clothes that are 300+ just to look "in fashion" while some people in the world don't have any food/clothes.

It's when people look nice. The french know a lot about this. They never go anywhere without dressing up. Why? Because it's not polite to the people who have to look at them. American girls usually don't accept this and would like to be loved for who they are. How Rude! =p

because beauty is unfortunately what ppl have grown accustomed to. And no matter how pretty you think you are if your ugly in the inside it WILL show. Trust me i've ran across many people like that, and if you love yourself you shouldnt have any problems no matter how attractive or unattractive you are. And EVERYONE has a uniqueness about them. You just have to find yours.Beauty starts with you.

some people just like looking good. some people like to look good to get compliments.
i, however, dress and do makeup, according to my mood and feelings. i can be gothy one day, and totally preppy the next.
people judge you on your looks.
and i dont think you want people to see you as a freak, or a weirdo.
even if u say you do, and go 'thank you' when someone calls you a freak. i'm pretty sure you'll be hurt, because they criticized the way you dress and look.

im not sure. people 2day c images on tv and in mags of what they should look like. it would be better if people would just realize its not real. people r photoshopped on the comp and eat 2 cornflakes and a piece of lettuce 4 breakfast. every1s beautiful they just dont realize it and thats sad.

Because unfortunately you can only make one first impression. If you are dressed shabbily, are overweight or whatever, you don't get judged as kindly as the beautiful people do.

because they wont to look nice especially in public! if you dont look nice people will talk about you and call you a bum! who doesnt wanna looknice you only have one life to live. when you get old youre probably not gonna wanna look nice!
