Why is eye cream supposed to only be applied to eye contour and not right up to the eye?

some, like bioelements, can be used up to the eye. they also have cosmocuticals (that might be misspelled) wich are cosmetics that help your skin.

it's because the skin on the eyes is different than the rest of your face. it's thinner with more capillaries (for blood flow). the product you use close to this area will automatically blend into the eye area.

Some eye creams have irritants in them, and you will find many have a plumping effect to counteract fine lines and dark rings etc. If they contain an active plumping ingredient then this will make your eyes a little puffed up too if you use them on the delicate eye area.

The eye contour is very thin skinned and therefore where the skin gets saggy and wrinkled. If you put it too near the eye, it will sting like hell and may need further treatment. It's a delicate area.

Because it will burn your eyes if it gets in them. Some of the ingredients might really irritate your eyes.
