Almost 2 yrs ago I found out hat I had HPV and what that meant for me(high-risk for cervical cancer) well after I went and got things checked out, my doctor told me everything was fine, but get checked in a year! Well 3mo later I found out I was pregnant with my daughter and my doctor kept a very close eye on me everything turned out fine I gad a healthy baby girl. So 3 weeks ago I go in for my normal yearly and find out that I don't have HPV but I may have some cancerous cells developing, I just found out less than 5min ago but I'm afraid of dying and I don't know how to tell him what's up! He'll be home in about an hour. How do I prepare myself and my family for the worst! I'm not sure I'm strong enough to stand up and face what may happen to me! Anyone know of or been iin a situation like this?

By the way for those who don't know HPV is Human Papiloma Virus! It is a STD but 80% of the time harmless and doesn't affect men! But in some instenses like mine it can cause cervical cancer! I heard over 85% of men are carrying it and don't know it. It's a very common infection it just doesn't cause any problems as often as other STDs do. So ladies and Gents Be Careful!

I had Class C cervical cells. They said the same thing "cells with a high potential of developing into cancer. I had laser surgery at the doctors office shortly there after. Surgery was a breeze, no immediate affects. That was 18 yrs ago and I've had 2 children been to my doctors every yr and seen so signs of anything of the sort since then. Take a deep breath, relax and realize this preventative maintenance and everything should be fine. Best of luck, hun.

is it that u may have or that u have cancer that worries u ?hay first of make sure that u have what u r frightened of or there is no point worryin without a known real cause.even when u know what u have i dont see how ur worries can make a difference.what u need to do is go through everythin that has to be done and deal with the specifics of what u have.but keep in mind that that ur frail emotional state for most parts affects ur condition negatively even at the physical level.good luck

Tricky....do you have enough information to answer the questions he is going to ask? I beat breast cancer last year and had all the support from my family, I was open, upfront and we all cried together, i too was sure i was going to die. Two days after being told and crying for those whole two days I stood up, shook myself and thought NO WAY! I worked through it, be open and honest and you will get through this. This is something you need to do together. You need a hug tonight and the feeling of strong supportive arms, it is time to open up and say it as it is. I really wish you the best of luck and i hope all goes well for you. If you have to have treatment it is horrible but you have to keep going and live each day as it comes. a positive mind does wonders! Cjay

first of all, thank you for answering my question....i loved your answer.

well, my sister went through the same thing a few months ago. she had HPV and the doctor's found cancerous cells in her cervix. we were all pretty freaked out. they did a biopsy and found out that she was fine, thank god. all i can say is hope for the best. and i heard that it's usually nothing. the percentage of getting it is very low. either way, i hope for the best for you. stay strong.
