i am reading a book and the girl refers to "pushing the scale over nine stone" So what is a stone equal to a pound

9 stone x 14 lbs = 126 pounds
The girl sounds like a lightweight to me but anyone whose weight is described as "pushing" is being conveyed as heavier than they should be.
