Worzel was fab for a long time but then he started going nasty didn't he when that horrible travelling scarecrow maker started messing with him. Then the programme got loads of complaints and stopped being shown. I never have a cup of tea and a slice of cake without giving a thought to him and Aunt Sally though.
I think the best kids' show EVER was Play School and I loved it because of all the toys. I was mad about Hamble the doll and even wrote to Don Spencer, the Aussie presenter, to ask if I could have her! He wrote back to me with a signed photo and said they still needed her for the show but that you could buy Humpty replicas in the shops. I was a bit gutted!
Other favourites were definitely Button Moon, Rainbow, Cockle Shell Bay, Moon Cat, Choc-a-Block and Sooty. Can you tell I was an 80s girl?!

Worzel gummage was a bit rubbish but we all watched it and loved it at the time. Especially when he got his head chopped off. Rainbow is an enduring memory mainly for Rod, Jane and Freddy especially when they sang the 'Wibbly Wobbly' song. Button Moon passed me by I'm afraid. Great question though!

What about Metal Micky, Renta Ghost, Thundercats, Pigeon Street, Fraggle Rock, Portland Bill, Cockleshell Bay, Finger Mouse, Play School and Lets Pretend? No wonder the generation after us are terrorising the streets when all they had to watch was Teletubbies and the Tweenies.

The woodentops - particularly spotty dog. Bet you don't remember it. Also liked circus boy. Remember there wasn't much television in those days. It wasn't on 24 hrs a day like it is now. Mind you I also liked Worzel Gummidge and Rainbow but don't remember much about button moon.

Same story every week but I still watched it.
Also liked Chortlon and the Wheelies and Jamie and his Magic Torch.
No two nights were the same with Jamie ;)
