not true. I never notice loseing my plug the first time. I guess it happened so gradually that I didnt notice,...but the 2nd,3rd, & 4th times it was a sure sign of labor. The body (cervix) tends to dialate early the first time. After that you usually wint start to dialate and lose the mucus plug until the time of actual labor. and just some advice,..be prepared for afterbirth pains this time. It will be different than having your first baby. The contractions continue for a couple of days after the baby is born. This is due to the fact that your body has to work harder to contract your uterus back down to the normal size and to stop the bleeding.

I never lost my mucus plug at home, where I noticed with my first 2 children....but I started losing it 3 days before my last child was born...I stayed dilated at 6cm for those three days and finally had to have labor induced at 10 days overdue...So, yes, it could be different for you this time, you never really know. Best of luck to you with your new little one!!! :)

Mine fell out 2 weeks before I went into labor. It doesn't mean that you are in labor.

Your mucous plug had to have come out of your cervix or you wouldnt of been able to deliver. You just didnt notice that it came out.

It *obviously* fell out, you just didn't notice it. Heck I can usually spot mine every month! (yes, there is one every month) But, a second pregnancy will be faster, as your body now knows how to do it. Don't be caught out.
