What do you need in order to put a web site on a server if you have your own ( any sort of software or anything else?) and does it by any chance come with the server

My server is a Dell Poweredge 2800 with Windows Server 2003

For a webserver, you could use Microsoft's Internet Information Services (IIS). This will allow you to server html files, dotnet web files (aspx) if dotnet runtime,etc is installed. You can even serve php pages if you install php on your machine.

But as long as you don't need dotnet support, I'd install the Apache web server, for html, php. It's free, easy to use, and it very very popular. Then you just put your website in the appropriate location, point your domain name to your web server's ip, adjust necessary config files in apache and voila.
