there is no safe amount of alcohol for a pregnant woman because it hasnt been proven how much can cause fetal alcohol syndrome so it would be a little irresponsible to drink while your pregnant

I had an occasonal glass of wine when I was pregnant, my baby is perfect and healthy. A doctor even told my friend that an occasonal drink, sipped, not gulped isn't going to cause fetal alcohol syndrome, you'd have to drink A LOT before it you do anything to harm the baby. People who tell you absolutely not are probably the same ones that drink coffee or caffeinated soda all day, eat deli sandwiches, enjoy soft cheeses and eat large amounts of fish (all not reccommended when your pregnant). I say go ahead and have your lager just don't make a habit of it, but I'm not a doctor either so it's totally up to you.

No, one drink a day is not going to harm the baby - it's when you start getting hammered that you're in trouble!

My wife has a friend from college who had a cup of coffee every morning and a glass of wine in the evenings on a regular basis (two to three times a week), and had completely healthy babies.

My ob/gyn told me that an *occasional* (meaning once or twice during the ENTIRE pregnancy) glass of beer or wine is fine. Not a huge 22 or 40 oz. beer, but a regular size glass. And don't listen to the fetal alcohol syndrome thing. ONE beer won't cause your baby to be born with that. Children who are born with that are born to women who drink 9and drink heavily--e.g. alcoholics) through their entire pregnancies...not women who have one beer.

i took a lot of child development classes and things like that in college and it was reported by quite a few drs and books i read that one glass of wine or one beer is not going to harm your baby...in fact in times of high stress it isn't a bad idea to indulge yourself in a glass of wine and a warm bath because that is way better for the baby then the stress you are putting it through.

My doctor advises to stay away from alcohol 100% during pregnancy so it's up to you. I think one beer in 10 months is nothing to be concerned about

As long as you maintain the one, the problem would magnify if your had two or three lagers. Good luck with your pregnancy and congratulations.

don't risk it if you have to ask because i know babies with FAS(fetal alcohol syndrome). if you want a healthy baby, you shouldn't even have to ask that question.

when you drink it, the baby is basically floating in alcohol until it is flushed from your body.
