So gw2950 (the second one to answer this question), by your definition of a job being "working 9am to 5pm", police officers that work nights, or military members standing watch from 7pm to 7am don't have real jobs? Please...you need to broaden that definition of what a real job is...

And for the question, yes, stripping is a real job. Just like any other job in the entertainment business (actor, sports player, tv star, the list can go on and on). They pay taxes and earn wages.

Yes, it is a job that some places in the USA require a license to be an independant contractor. Whether you will be respected by others is another thing. It doesn't require education, nor any training or apprentice experience.

Yes, and so is being a prostitute and a porn actor. (The poster who felt only 9 to 5 jobs are valid overlooks the night shift and swing shift workers in many fields). Stripping is harder than it looks, and no matter how good you are, you will never be socially accepted outside the sex industry arena. I wouldn't tell any woman to get involved with this unless her own level of morality close to amoral.

You could work at a store that sells sex toys or go to college and become a sex therapist or teach sex education. I don't think stripping is a bad job, but I doubt you'll be getting many orgasms out of it. Get an education and do more with your life.

It depends on what you mean by 'real'. I define a real job by working from 9 to 5. I don't know of any strippers that work these hours, maybe 9pm to 5am.

a real job would be any way that is legal to make money, where you have to go to work, and earn it. So yes stripping is a real job..

Yeah, you have to show up, work 8 or more hours, and you get a paycheck, so I guess it is a real job.

Yes it is a job. And I bet if you are good it can pay very well. The work conditions and benefits may not be very attractive however: no health insurance, working in a dark enclosed space, horny guys grabbing you, etc..

Anything that pays "real money" is a "real job"
Taking your clothes of in front of a bunch of hollering drunks may sound easy but it isn't. It is not glamorous either.
