my comp just went through an IP ban, due to my sisters stupidity, and I lost 4 years of work because of it.
Someone said If i can get a dynamic ip, my address on my laptop will change, and allow me to get back my work... is that possible?

A very easy way to get a different IP address is to use a Wi-Fi hotspot such as the ones found on many Starbucks. Or to use the internet from your friends house.

Most home users have dynamic IP address as part of their internet service -- you have to pay more, and request, to get a fixed IP address. Even so, your dynamic IP address hardly ever changes - that's why you are having a problem with your blocked IP.

A long term fix for this problem is to switch internet service providers.

Where are you getting you internet from? If you are connected to a router then you do have a dynamic IP. The only way you would have a static address is if you worked at a large company that has one assigned or if you paid to have one. Unlikely, so just go somewhere else and use a public connection.

If you are using ordinary dial-up or broadband (ADSL) connection you've already get dynamic IP address, if you are using Cable modem it my be(or must be) static IP(everytime you connect you get same IP NUMBER(address), if you are banned in some site they cant recognize you by your IP address, when you unplug and replug your ADSL you get a new IP addres which is dynamic(everytime you connect you get different IP number), you can reconnect and get a new IP but they recognize you by your computer name and user name of your computer, you may change and break the BAN, if you are banned by your login name in that site re-register to that site with different user(login) name

LOL (",) or me ...

But seriously speaking; you lost 4 years of work because of it!

~ How could that be possible if you just lost your Dynamic IP?

~ Do all your files got lost in the process?

~ Don't you backup your files at least once a month?
