She recieved a large bonus from her work but dousn't make a lot of money otherwise. My boyfriend and I are going but want to pay for ourselves. HOW CAN WE PAY WITHOUT INSALTING HER?

If she's an adult that is capable of making her own decisions then you need to let her make her own call on her personal finances. Letting her pay not only doesn't insult her but will more than likely make her feel really good that she was able to do so. Let her pay for dinner. If you are REALLY concerned about her ability to manage her finances and you think she isn't capable of making a good call financially than just watch what you order. Get an inexpensive item.. salad and water etc. Than once she has fulfilled her desire to treat her friends offer to buy HER a drink at the bar to celebrate the reason for the bonus. Just put yourself in her shoes. If you felt you had extra cash and wanted to do something special for someone you cared about and than they declined (pretty much telling you you aren't capable of making your own financial calls) wouldn't you be insulted?.

1. Insist on the water giving you your own bill and tell her save it and go do something nice for herself!(throw in a wink and that lightens the moment).
2. Let her get it and then get her back later.

tell her you appreciate the invitation but if it is just the same to her you would like to pay for yourselves and would like for her to buy herself something nice that she really wants. If she gets insulted then she will get over it if she is a true friend.

Let her do this do not pop her bubble. Let her enjoy the moment and then you can have her over for a dinner or out to dinner.

She's happy she can do this for her friends. Return the favour at a later date,or invite her round for a meal
