I can understand how you wymmin would want to vote and have equal rights, but it seems like your not satisfied with equal rights, you act like you deserve special privilegies and status. It is going beyond equal and women are now in a protected class as if they were a minority. Is the patriarchy still oppressing you?

Pay wage gap - this is because of women's decisions, people who do the exact same work get paid the same.

Glass Ceiling - Women cannot have both a high powered career and take time off to care for children. and expect to become a corporate director.

Women are the stronger sex? How so? Because they live longer from having less stressful lives? How come male long-distance runners and cyclists beat the crap out of women in those sports as well? Women are not strong by any measure. Oh wait, you lay there while your body pushes out a baby, so you must be strong to passively allow your body to do that. Are you asking why masculine women aren't considered feminine? You're an idiot.

Yes, and I'll tell you where. The problem with feminism is that it not only wants to conquer the legal system, but society as well. It wants to 'bully' people into its ideology, like a cult. It wants to force men to let the women make the decisions. It wants to force men to hire less qualified women. It wants to force women to work, when in their heart they want to be stay-at-home mothers. It wants to force women to be paranoid about men to the point they do not trust the actually faithful and good men.

Feminism should remain in the basic human rights. Women have the right to vote, own property, life and the pursuit of happiness, but feminism shouldn't try to force its ideologies down the throats of families, religions, nations, etc... Just as feminism has the right to be 'modern', its opposers have the right to be 'old fashioned', per se.

I forwarded your question to one of the original members of the board of N.O.W., Warren Farrell.

I do agree on the pay gap, especially in what they call equity of pay, where women working jobs that mostly women do, should pay the same that most men do. Men die on the job at the rate 700 to 1 compared to women. Men do mostly jobs that are radically less safe. If more women did these jobs, which do pay substantially more, than there would be more pay equity. It also may force more laws passed to protect people in these jobs.

There is a severe shortage in workers in Blue Collar workers, so there are jobs available.

As for the Glass Ceiling, a survey was done of 50,000 women about whether they would rather have a male or female boss. Over 60% said a man, because women were often harassing and would do things to damage the careers of other women. Also, what about the Glass Cellar. Whereas they demand more income and higher positions, they also demand custody of their children, that only men shod support the family, that women should not pay alimony, and that female officers should be the primary officer responding to domestic violence calls.

Women are the stronger sex? How so?
Actually, women have 24 more muscle in the abdomen than men do. Try standing with your toes to the wall, than take two steps back, heel to toe. Put your feet together at that point, and place a simple kitchen chair between you and the wall. Bend over at the waist, place your head against the wall with you back flat. Pick up the chair to your chest, than try to stand up. You cannot do it, but women can.

Because they live longer from having less stressful lives?
This is because they talk to each other. Men don't and shouldn't. Half the emotional makeup of a man comes from a woman. Men are suppose to be married, after age 30, as they live longer than single men. Single women have the same life spans and health issues was married women.
How come male long-distance runners and cyclists beat the crap out of women in those sports as well?
Women do reach their peak for the efficient use of oxygen and energy at age 14, compared to 18 for males. This is why men are drafted at age 18, not because they are mature.
Feminism does not mean equality, only dominance. Once it did, but not in almost 30 years. You can ask Warren about that at the link below.

Do you realize that you've made yourself sound incredibly naive?

Men and women get paid the same, and it's the woman's choice to accept less?!? Tell that to all the women who cashed a lower paycheck last Friday but can't quit because they have rent to pay and groceries to buy.

Women don't get promoted because of childcare issues?!? Tell that to the all the childless women who have not been promoted.

Special priveleges and status? Please give specific examples.

Women are a protected class, not because they are a minority percentage of the population, but because they are systematically discriminated against in the workplace, government, and social organizations.

Sorry, but you sound like a naive kid who doesn't know what the real world is like yet.

Despite your reckless question i'll give you a serious answer. Women are still not equal to men in all areas, but some branches of the feminist movement have gone in the wrong direction. I think it should focus on protecting women's choice to join the work force or being a stay at home mom instead of maligning those who choose the latter. But still, in the age of the ipod, there is nothing men and women really cant do mutually as well, especially when it comes to white collar work.

Oobily Ghepp: There is no stronger sex, that phrase in itself betrays the equality movement. Each gender has strengths and weaknesses and niether is better or worse than the other.

Feminism has gone a little too far, although it began with good intentions.

(Why do answerers always become so passionate on this topic?)

I am thankful that I can be a doctor if I want, or a lawyer, a nurse, a CEO, or a teacher.

Many refer to women in the 1950s as oppressed, but if you look at filmography from that time period, who looks the most comfortable, the least haggled, the least harrassed?
And, being a stay at home mom beats fighting in WWII.

Without us mankind would not exist! On your knees boy. Show some respect. The day your first child is born you will come to understand the beauty of a women. I agree with your question in as much that the ideas of feminism have gotten out of hand, every corner you turn there is a sign that its not politically correct to address a women as a female. However, I would venture to say that the extremest views are not held by the general populace. To treat all citizens of the planet with the same respect, love and favour would lead to a kinder place for us all to live.

I think that most women just want to be treated like human beings and not have decisions made for them. Have choices about their own bodies, careers, etc. I don't think we're equal in all things because men and women are different, but that does not make either one of us superior or inferior to the other. We have to learn to accept and respect each other's differences and the fact that neither one of us can exist without the other. Plain and simple.

They do act like they deserve special privileges. Its so bizarre the way they act now days and a lot of the young ones have this vindictive quality to them. THere are a lot of reasons why women are getting more degrees these days like the fact that most teachers are women and they promote this "girl's rule" BS to third graders and double standards like if JR has pot in his bedroom lets kick him out on the street and ruin his life but if "missie" has a crack pipe its not her fault, the guy that sold to her is the real criminal so lets go beat the **** out the first guy we see that looks like a criminal. Poor helpless "missie" hasn't got a mean bone in her body!

Seriously the pay gap exists if i wouldn't get a friend of mine fired i would give you here pay opposed to a man who has been there for 2 years and does nothing....he is the office idiot...there is sexism and idiots like you who think women should stay home and raise children are part of the problem...a man makes a child just as much as a women yet we are the ones who are expected to do everything for said child....p.s. learn to spell women.

some branches of feminism has gone too far...but in the main we just want to be treated with respect...look around the world at women verses men you will see differences....
