As soon as I log onto my name after I turn on the computer, a lot of pop-ups come up. I can't do anything on the computer until all the pop-ups come up and then I have to exit out of all of them one by one. It takes a long time for all of the pop-ups to come up too. They make my computer go a lot slower than usual.

beer_farts is right - if you're receiving pop-ups immediately upon startup, then some sort of spyware or virus is installed on your system. You need to download some anti-spyware software to scan and fix your machine. Downloading Yahoo! Toolbar isn't going to do you any good, and at this point will only bog down your system more.

I agree with beer_farts' list. There's a lot on there though. My favorite free program for spyware (there may be better choices, but this works for me) is AdAware - that's listed as his second link. You should also download a second option, as no single spyware program will detect and repair everything.

AVG Antivirus (Grisoft) is a good free anti-virus program, but hopefully you already have something installed. You should make sure your antivirus program (whatever it is) is updated and run a scan immediately as well as sweeping for spyware.

You may have to dig a little deeper and manually get rid of some of your spyware, but if you use some of the resources from beer_fart's list you'll be off to a good start. Good luck.

first you need a firewall to prevent them in future, now you need a pop up blocker but before you need a powerful antivirus, YOU HAVE plenty of VIRUSES&trojan horses

You have spyware. You need to get it cleaned out-they can get at anything you type into your computer. Try: adaware, or spybotsearchanddestroy
