My hubby and I have just started trying for another child. I had been on BC pill for 8 years, stacking them for the last 2 years. I would only have a period every 8 or 9 weeks instead of every 4 weeks. When I stopped taking the pill, I started like normal, but am wondering if stacking the packs will alter how long it takes to have the next menstration. (If I am really lucky, I won't have one because we are pregnant).

I welcome any input you have on the side effects of stacking BC pill packs.

I stacked my packs because of migraines and being allergic to feminine supplies. My Dr. suggested it.

It's perfectly healthy...no one NEEDS a period. My Dr. prescribed it for me too as my PMS was a pretty extreme flu once a month, puking, migraines...the works. I talked to her about it and stopping is stopping...makes no difference if you stacked or not. Once you stop them, the hormones are out within a few days and you're good to go (assuming everything is normal to begin with.)

I stack the pills too, and I got pregnant the first month I stopped taking the pills. The reason I stacked them was because I was getting migraines when I was on the inactive pills. My doctor told me to take them back to bacck, skipping the inactive pills, and he told me it was perfectly fine to do. My headaches are gone.

That doesn't seem healthy. They have special birth control meant to give you a period every 3 months, but taking it other than by the prescribed instructions is not healthy or smart.
