As far as I know, I've used Rhino3d, it is free, you can also get 3dstudioMax, which is a great program.

Personally I use Blender, it's really good and easy to use, it has alot of extra utilities and is of course free. Not only that but it also has good user support, via online manuals and forums.
If you don't want a program with so many added features, I've heard that Maya is quie good, but to be honest I'm not entirely sure if it is completely free of if it's easy to use, but again it does have very good user support. hope this helps, good luck.
