Something that none of the research tells you, is that most generally when you lose your mucus plug, your are at least 1 centimeter dilated. I'd call your doc and let them know you believe you've lost it.

everyone is different. But just picture your sink drain. Then put a peice of paper over the hole to plug it up. Then imagine filling the sink with water. Slowely the water will break away the paper, then finally one movement from the baby and the paper will give weight. This is the water breaking moment. Sometimes your water will not break. (these people used card stock paper) everyone is different. How about you worrie about sleep. This is more important Sounds like baby will be here within the next week.

I have 6 children and i have always lost my mucus plug atleast a month before i gave birth. Also my water never broke on its own the doctor broke it.Just cause your mucus plug comes out does not have any say on going into labor,it does not even mean that you are dialated.

I lost my mucus plug at work around 1pm at work and stayed til 5pm despite everyone telling me that the baby was coming and trying to get me to go home. That night around 3 am I kept getting up telling my bf I thought I was wetting myself. I kept changing clothes and as soon as I fell asleep I would wake up feeling wet again. I was so clueless. LOL! I went to the hospital around 4am where they told me my water had broke but sent me home because I wasnt having contractions, went back at 7am having contractions spaced 5mins apart & I had my son around 1:33pm by c-section (he wouldnt drop and I hadnt dilated not even one centimeter.) Im told once the mucus plug comes out (I had never heard of a mucus plug until my 8th month of pregnancy) you should be having that baby real soon.

Congratulations! You are almost in labor!
It is different for everyone though. I can't tell you when you will go into labor. Monitor your contractions and call a doc if your water breaks before that.
