I have. You need a fair amount of decorations/plants for the female to get 'lost' in however. Bettas are extremely near sighted, the male rarely sees the females and then loses track of her easily enough.

Yes, you can put 2 betas in the same tank, 2 females.
The males are very territorial. You would have to keep at least 3 betas 1male + 2 females , to keep the male from killing the 1 female and would need lots of plants and/or hiding places for the females.
The male builds what is called a bubble nest and will protect any eggs that are laid. they will chase off the females to prevent them from eating the eggs/fry.
You need to have 1 gallon of water for ever inch of fish length so if you have 1 beta ( 4" @ adulthood) you need at least 4 gallons of water for that 1 fish. 8 gallons for 2. But you can safely keep 3 in a 10 gallon tank with decent filtration. And please cycle the tank first.
Cycling takes up to 6 weeks. you can do a fish-less cycle

those little bowls they come is is very cruel to keep them in. They are in survival mode & will only last abt. 1 yr. maybe longer with better water quality. If you keep them in very small containers it is the same has keeping them in a toilet bowl because of all their waste. Would you like to sleep , eat & swim in your waste?

From what i understand you cant put two beta fish in the same tank other wise they will kill each other. But i'm not completely sure if it matters which sex they are.

You can put beta fish in the same tank, no matter gender they are far to agressive and probably will end up killing each other

No. they might in all likelihood in simple terms mate. undergo in recommendations, you would be unable to place all 4 fish interior an identical tank because of the fact the lads might combat one yet another.you are able to basically have 2 women interior an identical tank,or a male and a woman interior an identical tank. solid success!

you can use a divider and then you can put both in same tank just along they are are both sides of the tank put male on one side of the divider and the female betta on the other side. if you don't do that then no you will need either one or the other in one tank and the other in different tank. the male betta will kill the female in the same tank.

Yes, because they are of opposite sex it is possible and I have had both in the same tank albeit a 55 gallon and they stay in the same spot all the time! The same sex (males) in the same tank will fight to the death.

I guess you can, BUT make sure it's more than one female and in a larger tank with LOTS of hiding places. It should not be the permanent home for them. They are normally only together for mating - even in their natural rice patty homes in asia.

Sure--the males and females will not attack each other, just males and males. There is no guarantee they will breed as they are egg layers and these are a little more difficult to get to breed. You can add multiple females if you want.
