Is it that you're homesick? If that is it,try speaking with your parents about it(if possible),or surround yourself with items from home, that are familiar, and safe to you.Why not invite some familiar faces aboard to go on a cruise for a bit?I'm sure you can get a family discount package.Good luck!Hope all works out for you.

You know not all Canadians are so mean. Now about your situation. Deep down in your little voice you know what is bothering you. If it is your bf, then you owe it to yourself to walk away. If it is that you are homesick. You have a decision to make. Either start going out and meeting friends or get ready to move back home to England. Just don't make things so difficult for yourself. There is always a solution to just about every problem eh?? Canadian humor!! so just ask yourself what is the real problem here. Then roll up your sleves and JUST DO IT!!! the problem won't go away, unless you take control of your own life!!

You need to come to terms with what's causing the depression before you can get better. It sounds like issues from your past are affecting your present state of mind. Also, leaving your home and settling in a new country with a new relationship can be mighty stressful. I'd suggest making an appointment with a therapist. You need help to sort out your problems and prioritize your life. Are you working now? Keeping busy can prevent you from dwelling on your troubles. Good luck!

Welcome to Canada ! We love it here.
It takes courage to admit there's a problem. That's an important first step. When you say "a lot of things happened in my life" this suggests that there are unresolved issues from your past. Only you would know if there are. The right profesional (psychologist or minister) can help you through this.
i would also encourage you to join a support group. You're a long way from home and in a new relationship. That's a lot of change for anyone to deal with. You deserve to be happy.
And hey, whoever "thumbs downed" your question is ignorant!

I moved from England to Canada as a young man of 24 years ago. I remember that I got homesick and depressed for a while. It will pass, believe me. Meantime, if you like music, play some real blues. Believe it or not, it works. If you want to keep your boyfriend, use a fake smile. I know it sounds hypoctritical but it has been proven that if you force a grin it actually leads to a real one.

Talk to your bf and see if there is a reason that things might be your relationship or your surrounding...... make a vacation to england if your able too... if you feel the same there as well then it might be something your missing .... ask your friends and family and not be shy .... the best way is to find help in you journey.

I run a employment recruitement agency and we hire alot of people from overseas. we find ourself having to reasure many of the female employees that they have a period of adjustment. After 3-5 months they are happy they never changed thier minds. Not one has left. Give it some time and the more you learn about Canada, the easier it gets.
