It's because america is wealthier.
Ever seen those poor, super skinny people from other countries?
It's also because all the foods sold there have so much fats and oils.
For example pizza.
Did u know that america eats 15 acres of that stuff every single day?
Then there are chips. Chips have so much oil that if u take just one, and put it in a fire, it would survive for a couple of minutes.
In other poorer countries, its actually attractive for a woman to be thick. This indicates she is well fed and not poor.

Food, exercise and wealth basically. Eating too much of most foods, particularly fatty and sugary foods; fast foods with all their added sugar etc. do not help. Portion sizes can be unnecessarily vast. Also to blame - not getting enough exercise and I don't mean sport necessarily; walking up and down stairs, walking to school or work, getting up out of the chair to do chores...etc. Energy needs to be used up by movement and keeping the body warm (over-heated homes don't help!). A large proportion of Americans have a much greater disposable income than people in many other countries so they can indulge themselves.
If we're not careful, Britain will go the same way and we'll end up more susceptible to heart disease, diabetes, joint problems and many other disorders.

What is more interesting is that no one cares. I mean, every woman's magazine has like three diets and 10 exercise programs to lose weight, there is a gym on every corner (Curves anyone), sections of movies in stores devoted to fintess, not to mention that every doctor can tell people how to lose weight. I think every woman over the age of 24 is fat, and younger than that they are so chubby. "Oh just accept me the way I am" - right. Men may be dogs, but women are definetly pigs.

Because American's are too lazy and greedy to grow their own animals correctly and end up injecting them with growth hormones that make them grow quickly (for that all mighty dollar)which in return make us grow quickly. It's sad but true. It's in the milk, meat and even veggies. Go into the supermarket and you see these apples that look like grapefruit and grapes that look like plums, I mean come on. Lately, I've had 3 friends that just had babies and all of them were over 10 pounds because whatever we eat is going to our unborn babies, chemicals and all!
Not only that, but since they've been doing it for sometime now, we have all gotten use to it and now we're supersizing, biggiesizing and feeling like we're being cheated if a portion of food does not tumble over the side of the plate. Big food, big appetite, big $$!
God help us all.

Because of all of the fast food places we have here. And some people are born obese and it is in their genes and they are stuck with it. And I guess that we take everything we have for granted. Especially our health.

We're in too much of a hurry to buy healthy food, to prepare it properly & to sit down and enjoy it.
I think we're learning....a bit late though.

there is an abundance of food, television, computer, video games...etc. No one needs to run around to have fun anymore. And everything else is made for convenience.
