Pre decimilisation there were:
20 shillings to the pound(£)
12 pence to the shilling
2 halfpennies in a penny ('Hap'ny)
2 farthings to the halfpenny.
A Thruppeny bit was 3 pence (a marvellous coin)
A Tanner was 6 pence (sixpenny bit).
A Half a Crown was 2 1/2 shillings
A Crown was...!!
2 shillings (two bob) was 24 pence
There was a 'Ten Bob Note'
and a Guinea was 21 shillings.

I was born in 1957 and can remeber all of them.
I may not be correct with the spelling - have I missed any?
