He invaded for many reasons.
1. He was very down in polls.
2. Military industrial complex wanted war.
3. By invading Afghanistan and Iraq Iran will fall into the
hand automatically if every thing went smoothly and
it will keep Russia away from Iran and Warm Waters
of Indian Ocean.
4. His gang will make a lot of money.
5. United states will have a chance to make permanent
bases even if nothing else goes well.
6. Almost free OIL.

Iraq had nothing to do with Osama btw.
Bush and Rumsfeld ordered most of the troops out of Afghanistan when Osama was just about cornered in Tora Bora. I wonder why he did that. But now the big oil business, Halliburton, is colonizing Iraq.
Gas prices are among the only positive results to come from the Bush Administration.

Ha ha! We went to Afghanistan to hunt for UBL. Then, we were in Afghanistan to take down the Taliban. It seems that going to Iraq was more important, however, as there is a handful of troops in Afghanistan compared to the number in Iraq. I do not know why GW Bush decided to invade Iraq. Conspiracy theories abound on that issue.

So he would "look tough" to the voters after 9/11 and so he could get re-elected, and so the defense contractors (who were major campaign contributors) could have a legal way to get billions of dollars of your tax money from the government.
Honestly, think about it -- the most powerful military in the world can't find one guy hiding in an area smaller than New York City and with somewhere around 5-10,000 people TOTAL in it?
Only reason the US govt. hasn't found osama is because they don't WANT to. That would prematurely end the "war on terror" and stop the gravy train to the defense contractors.

Well, since Osma was never in Iraq and he's been out of Afgaistan for about 4 years now, I think it's safe to say Bush has failed to capture Osma.

I'm still scratching my head over Iraq. Sorry but I doubt Osama has ever been there.
Why are the Taliban gaining back control of areas in Afghanistan?

If he'd kept our troops in Afghanistan instead of invading a country that hadn't attacked us (Iraq), he might have caught Osama instead of losing him at Tora Bora.
