I also wondered that as well so my husband and I actually went in to a Walmart and spoke with an employee. He was a general manager, so I'm not sure how honest he was being, but he spoke with us for 30 minutes about how Walmart isn't as bad as everything thinks. He went on about his benefits, however, he did work another job, so that may answer your question. The wages are hardly enough for a single man to live off of!

I work at walmart and have for 13 years.
The work is enjoyable,
there are people there who make you want to cringe.
I have been in 3 stores,
One store there was a focus on training people
that was my favorite, cause most people knew what they were doing
in the store I am in now, It seems that the store manager is only interested in his bonus, and cuts hours, and takes shortcuts.
I do not like him, and It is frustrating working here, because I find Not a lot of people know what they are doing beyond their basic job.
this store pays $6.00 to start,
so we get people who are willing to work for 6, teens, and problem people.
many of the teens leave when they realize that macdonalds pays 7.
so,
little training, high turn over, and a manager I don't trust.
but, There are good ones, and bad ones.
:)

Yes,I worked at Wal-Mart I thought it was fun for the time being they only paid 7.25 starting and 3 months later 7.54.But they were very disorganized and very rude even the managers. They blame everyone for their mistakes which isn't fair.
I recall this one time I was working at the section where they have the tobacco products and these 2 girls who were this lady Rebecca's
daughters they came and they were buying alot of things so I check them out in my line since the other lines were busy they purchased their items with checks that I've checked to make sure was there's and I did all the correct procedures and I waited for a Cashier manager to come to ok the checks but their computer ok the checks and the managers assumed I knew the girls and I didn't and they fired me for that at that time I didn't know I could take them to court but when I found out I could it was a little too late.

It must be, because every time I go to walmart I can never find anyone that works there.

I never seem to hear anything but the negative, despite the commercials, even from the employees in the checkout line......amazes me tho cos most of the time many of them are just standing around talking - all over the building.
????????
Do not know who to question more.....the employees or the management.
