if you are just starting to think about having sex then you need to research a lot more before you do anything so that you can make the right descision for you to prevent you from becoming a parent.

you are probably best off starting with condoms and the pill. a condom is the best way to prevent you from getting sexually transmitted diseases and if that fails and you're on the pill then at least you've cut down your chances of becoming pregnant!

i'm just concerned that the education system is failing you. you should discuss this with your parents as they know you best, and although you may all be embarrassed it's better to be embarrassed than pregnant!

good luck

Contraception means against conception, i.e. conceiving a child during sexual intercourse. Thus contraceptives cover anything that prevents this happening, such as condoms the pill, hormone injections which have similar effects to the pill, diaphragms (internal barriers which the woman inserts into her vagina), coils (which are fitted inside the womb and stop a fetilised egg being implanted into the lining of the womb) amongst other things.

Contraceptives are ways to keep from getting pregnant. The pill, the patch, depo shots, diaphrams, IUDs, condoms. Condoms are the only contraceptive that also prevent the spread of STDs.

contraceptives are things you and your partner can use to prevent you getting pregnant, and worse, sexually transmitted diseases. they are very useful and need to be used every time you and your partner have intercourse, there are many different kinds of contraceptives, and they are free on the nhs, and are available through your gp, or some health clinic. but only have intercourse when you are ready do so, and don't feel pressured into it, by someone that says they love you just because they want to get you into bed, when the time is right you should be with someone you trust and respect and who trusts and respects you.

Contraceptives are anything that prevents pregnancy (in other words, birth control.) Most contraceptives do not prevent the spread of STDs; condoms are a notable exception.

Ok you can use Condoms, go on the pill, (be careful with the pill as it can affect your mood swings and you may put on weight.) There is an injection which goes into your arm which is easier if you don't want to take the pill everyday. I think these are your best options, there is another option, just don't have sex, but then you wouldn't be normal!

Good luck hope you take on board the advice!
