Pages aren't weightless, they just don't weigh very much. In a bookcase, there are a lot of pages plus covers & the case itself. It all adds up. Example: An ounce isn't much weight. 1000 ounces adds up to more than 60 pounds.

They are not weightless just they weigh so little that they appear insignificant , there are 10s of thousands in an average bookcase and there are also book covers .

if all books were 1-2 pages then bookcases could be made less sturdy. But in reality books are hundreds of bound pages and often with a hard cover. This increases the weight.

Nothing is weightless. Anything that has mass and takes up space has a weight.
Paper is heavier than air thats why it falls when you drop a single sheet. Put 1,000,000 sheets together and you have a very heavy mass of paper.

Well if you can not judge the "Weight" of a page, the book is bound to appear "Heavy", thats another thing.

Every page in a book has some mass as a result all the pages together constitute some total mass which is the sum of all the masses of the pages and therefore it is heavier.
