why are so many people against listening to country music? whats wrong with it?

it's just a stigma and stereotype against it in that it's associated with hicks and rednecks and the generally lower class folk. Keep in mind that it switches between #1 and #2 most popular style of music in the United States.
personally, i think country is great- it's the classic form of story tellin' music. but then again, i live in vernal, utah now. that's kinda hick and redneck. BUT! I just moved here from sh-it-ty (i mean sunny) so cal (and so what). I'm a metal head hesher rocker in real life. BUT! then again, i do dig the country. I'm workin' on startin' a country band.

People aren't against listening to country music. It is one of the most listened to music in america. Do you live in a big city on the coast? Maybe that is why you have so many people who don't listen. Major metro areas are more into the musice that the kids like to dance to in clubs or rap type stuff. There is nothing wrong with country music. It actually has words people can understand and I can't ever remember hearing nasty words in one of the songs. Also, the county ladies are some of the prettiest in the music business. The guys are pretty good lookin' too. My son is a DJ playing electronic type club music and he likes country too.

The country music you hear these days is not country music, It is Crock, Country mixed with Rock. And it is so depressing, Stuped, and dont make since. The best music is the music from the early 50:s and70:s, now that was music. And this crap they call Rap should be banned from all radio stations and music stors. It is Repugnent, Distastefull, Vulger and Not clean enough to be played on any radio.TV. or anything. It is a bunch of crap.

I am not against other people listening country, i do not like at all but you can listen it, if you like it.

Don't know. I enjoy listening and dancing to it.
At least it's not violent and vulgar like some genres of music.

nuthins wrong with it ... when people are against something, it is just that they think what THEY like is so necessary.... and they have to hate other things ... but who cares, really? if you like it, like it... and it is not like you have to like EVERY country song. i like some, dislike others... and i don't go around saying "rap" or "rock" or jazz music is crap... some is what I like and some isn't... i wish people wouldn't be so quick to judge. have an open mind... you'll go much farther in this world with it... MUCH farther.

i love country music.. as long as RASCAL FLATTS stays a country band then i love country music. I LOVE RASCAL FLATTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
