I just heard recently the average price for a house in USA is $225,000.00 but that price varies widely depending upon where in the country you live. California is known to be hugely expensive, while housing prices are relatively cheap in Pennsylvania (where I live)

Depends on the location - here in Maryland - Anne Arundel County, the average home sells for about $350,000 - out in the midwest the average price is going to be more along the $200,000 price range.

It depends where you buy it. For example, our current landlord is selling this crappy house that needs a lot of work. He offered us 150,000. Today my husband and I found a house in a good neighborhood and it was beautiful. We made an offer right away for 65,000. That same house we bought in Albany would, if sold here in Athens, would be 120,000. It all depends on how much the taxes are. We just bought a new house in excellent condition, better than the one we are renting.

Depends on the state, and city your looking at prospective property in. Lets say hypothetically there were two identical properties on the market, but one home is in a town called boring, Oregon, and the other one is in South hampton NY. The one in NY is going to sell for more than three times the price of the one in Oregon.

It really depends on where you live, because the price of property goes into the price of a home and that varies. It can be an "average" of $100,000 to $500,000, or so I've seen.

Depends where you live. I saw the other day that Minot,ND had the lowest prices at 123,000 for a house.
