I have seen postings on here about American Black women. Some cast us in a bad light. Many of them rightfully so. Alot of black women are intolerable and HATE to see a black man with a white woman. I don't have a problem with it personally, I think it's the way it should be. Plus the babies are beautiful (side track).

Anyway. I get kind of sad about what I read on here. Mostly because alot of it's sad and true. I won't go into details about what I've read because I want your objective opinion. Look for my next question to find out, more specifically, why I posted this question.

When answering this, keep in mind that I'm just curious and won't take offense to your answers. I love people and social matters and so I post alot of political and social questions. I'm not a "neck-rolling, gum poppin', finger-snapping, man-bashing, loud mouth, hip-hop hoochie mama" who wants to get "some mess started". I'm a educated American woman who just wants to know for the sake of conversation.

By the way,
I didn't mean to suggest that biracial babies are more beautiful than others. There are beautiful and "ugly" babies from all races. But I was making a point to say that the bi-racial child is beautiful because he/she defies societies self imposed rules about who should or should not be together. Who should or should not have babies. I feel the same way about American and non-American couples, regadless of ethnicity. The development of facial features and genes follow the same rules regadless of the race of the parents. Half mom and half dad. Period.

Though I am not a girl I did know one black girl... way back when... I liked her a lot...

I was in the navy and frequently rode the bus between Norfolk and Suffolk VA. many blacks commuted that way and I got to know some... one very nice girl was aboard nearly every time I was... we spoke enough to share some personal info... I finaly asked her if we could spend some time togeather off the bus... we did spend some time around the bus stop where she got off in Norfolk. But she said she could not carry our connection any further as her family would not accept and i would actualy be in danger from some of her relatives... we did have some meetings further that summer, all in public and never beyound the friend stage... When I went to sea I asked if we could keep in touch and she said that it would be best if we just kept that time as it had been... because there was no chance of any thing but trouble for her if her family found out.... But she was the first black person I had gotten close enough to to actualy say I knew her and she told me I was the first white person she had ever actualy thought of as a friend...when I returned to Norfolk I rode that bus several times and never saw her again... and she no longer worked where she had... I have often though what if....

But that was the way it was then in the 60s

I was raised as a military child. My father was always getting moved here or there and in military communities there are a lot of different cultures. I know it is hard to believe, but I feel like I don't see color. If I like someone it is going to have nothing to do with their color. I recently found out that my landlord is a racist and it pissed me off so bad because my neice and nephews are mulatto (is that how it is spelled?) and I love them to death. It makes me sad to think that every time I had them over she was thinking bad things in her head about them. They are the sweetest children (when they want to be) and I want nothing but the best for them. Have you seen that movie "Save the Last Dance"? I got kind of upset when the guys sister was all up in the white girls face about her taking one of the good black guys... etc... I guess I don't see it that way. I don't have any stereotypes in my head about black american women, some of the most beautiful and wonderful people I know are black american women.

I think that you are a very educated and very intelligent person. You are the perfect example of why people should never generalize a race based on stereotypes. I would have no problem being friends with someone of your caliber. On the other and, I have to be honest and say that the type of women you are referring to (the "hoochie mamas") really get on my nerves. I think they are the ones who tend to be racist and because there are uneducated people of every race who are racist, racism will continue to be a problem.

yeah I get curious and search for the black questions on this site.
they all seem to be based in the most basic social interactions : dating and behavior.

it really just the common mantra, black/white dating and "why are they so..." questions. I'm not a fan of race haters like you. What I never get is this attitude thing. So when people say sh!t I'm not suppose to be mad? Honestly, I believe people think blacks should just sit quiet and smile. No emotion no nothing, because its never "why are those white kids yelling..." everyone notices the black ones.
but yes we do stick out in this society, in T.V , Sports, Education all arena's of life someone is watching to see " how will THEY act". So I'm not too surprised.

I am a black woman who doesn't look at black women as a whole. Because I KNOW there are differences even within my own family. I think we should all go on a a case by case basis.

By the way...

I've seen some very ugly biracial children.

I have experience with that. My mom was white and dad was black. My bro is dating a white girl but she AWESOME! I have no problem with it. It's love. I'm mixed I guess, but I HATE the Color Labels, or Classifications, or Races or whatever. It serves NO purpose whatsoever.

I was adopted into a black family, and my wise mother (she's black whatever it's called) told me that black GUYS, atleast on TV are shown as lazy males making babies and living off their girlfriends mother. all the black guys I know arehard workin' with families though. My mom warns my bro not to be a Baby-Machine. WELL he's not.

I think black ladies are ok!

I think we are great, because I am one of them. We are strong, sassy(sometimes mistaken for the adjectives she used), and loving. What's better than that. Is every single American Black Girl perfect? No, but is any girl from any race? Of course not, you are a human being first. I love my heritage and I think black babies are beautiful. You don't have to be 'mixed' to be be beautiful ya know. As far as seeing a black man with a white woman, don't really care, but its good when he is with that white woman because he loves her, not because he can make "pretty babies" with her. His momma is black, did she make an ugly baby that is now him? That is idiotic to me.

It's not any female's right to define all black women as angry white women haters. You should pay attention to more important things. It's not about white and black to black women in interacial dating. Asians and other races are mixing with each other too.

I want you to know this is an African American speaking, so you can understand that you have not spoken for black women and your statement is just a sterotypical generalization of black women only concieved to be perceived for the majority' advantage. So, stop talking about black women who are African American.

Honestly, my view of American black girls is pretty much what I see in films. Not that I take it literally of course, just that when I hear the words "american black girl" i think of a sassy fast talking, don't take no **** of nobody, slightly plump ghetto girl. Sorry, but because I don't live in America it's the only basis i have.

Though to be honest I would like to hang out with a woman like that because they seem like a lot of fun to be around!

To be honest,I don't know many black women personally. The
ones I have known have been all right. Actually I thought it was
black guys complaining about black girls dating white guys.
Either way,it's racism which makes it stupid and wrong.
