How many do you think is the ideal number of clothing items for an office wardrobe?

tops (shirts, jackets...)
bottoms (pants, jeans)
shoes
other?

This may be different from what you actually have. Please don't say sky's the limit, can we deal with a realistic number. Thanks!

I have two pairs of pants (both khaki) and jeans (for Friday). I wear a different shirt every day...usually hawaiian print. I have on pair of shoes (brown loafers) and black socks (I keep those fresh on a daily basis.)

It's work, not a fashion show. I have nice clothes for going out with the wife...but I won't waste them on work.
