How fake is Santa? My parents told me this when I confronted them if Santa was real or not. Santa was a man who lived a long time ago, and gave toys to young children in the spirit of celebrating Christmas and sharing and caring of everyone. He died many years ago, but people around him continued his work, and parents act as Santa to continue his work. Because its a good thing. So the real Santa is gone, but his spirit...his spirit is very much alive. So "Santa" is real and will always be. A man only gets to live one life, but your spirit and soul can live forever.//// I think in this way Santa gives children a beautiful thing to hold onto, and it shouldn't be crushed by the adult-hood "no-Santa" .. I believe in WHAT Santa stands for, along with so many...so for me..Santa is real...he just has a billion helpers....and remember that there really was a true story of a man who we know now as kris kringle aka santa...so his work did continue...which makes my story I'll tell my kids just as true.

I've asked my husband the same thing. He grew up where Santa came every year and left presents. I on the other hand never believed in Santa, we just didn't. In discussing raising our future children, I really didn't see a need in it. But he said those were the best years and memories that he had growing up. Even though as he got older he knew the truth he still went along with it.

As my children became of age to wonder and ask i let them know that Santa isn't a person but more of a spiritual feeling that is pretty much known worldwide... so as i said Santa is not a person but he is indeed around in many forms ...IE the Peace and the Charity that all happens at that time of the year.

You should do a little more research before posting a question like this. Just like Jesus there once WAS a Santa.People have carried on the tradition for the kids sake.Once you reach a certain age you can choose to believe or not to believe.I for one STILL BELIEVE in the story,as do many other grown ups around the world.Key word STORY.

I don't know about anyone else but for me, it's the giving. The spirit of the season is kindness, generosity. As Bill Murray said in Scrooged - it's the time of year we all become the people we always wished we were.
St. Nicholas was a very cool guy. His spirit of generosity and kindess, of being a true Christian. Giving and expecting nothing in return. The magic of it all. The idea of continuing that magic through out our lives.
Kids are so smart these days, they figure it out really early not. But you can continue the idea of it.

The idea of Santa is not fake. Santa is a magical idea and children should always have fond memories of it.

They just want their kids to have fun...later they ARE going to find out he's not real, so it's just better to let them have fun while it lasts..while they believe in santa.
