I used it as birth control and yes it works, I had a baby in April of 2006 and she's still my only baby. Now we are trying again so we'll see what happens. But yes it does work!

My mom and dad used the rhythm method, and I'm the result. Also my 2 older brothers and 2 older sisters are the result. If she doesn't ever want children, why doesn't she get a Tubal Ligation? You're in and out in the same day,and just feel a little tenderness in the abdomen for a day or so.I had mine done 25yrs ago.And it was that easy then,so today it's probably even faster. You never have to worry about birth control again.I've never regretted having mine done. And most men don't want anyone messing around down "there" with a scalpel. So my husband loves that I had it done also.To me, it's the only way to go if you know that you don't want children.Hope that helps.Good luck and God bless

My grandma did it! She had 5 kids. It doesn't work. It is like the old joke. What to you call a Catholic on the Rhythm Method? Parents.

Most people who use it will end up parents. it is only a matter of time before you goof and there is the next kid on the way.

Anyone who claims that it works has been lucky SO FAR.

She should talk with her doctor and see what alternative ways he/ she knows about that might be compatible with her medical issues.

I have heard terrible things about it, like it is about as reliable as pulling out. You can become pregnant any time of the month, it is just more likely when you ovulate. I got pregnant the first day of my period. Condoms are pretty effective, why doesn't she use those?

That definitely does not work. Believe me! Condoms, diaphram, IUD or getting her tubes tied.

don't trust it! there are other methods....
but bascially, you figure out when your period is going to be...two weeks prior is when your are most likely to get pregnant and you don't do it that week...but the way that most women's bodies are, unless you are on the pill, your period isn't regular anyway...

Tell her to use condoms, they are much more effective.
