a full payment of what is owed unless you negotiate with the electrical company a payment plan, which is sometimes hard to get them to agree to.

It depends on your credit - here in Maryland with BGE if you have not had an account with them it costs $84 to turn on + a deposit of 1-2 months of the average bill for that address.

It varies by each electric company. Some require a larger deposit than others, some require you to have a prior history of usage....I had to plop down $100.00 to get ours started but it was refunded after 1 year of service/payments.
