Maybe simply because it's being forced out as the balloon returns to its original shape, and when you inflated it you had to exert enough force to stretch the balloon?

Because the elasticity of the rubber making up the balloon is forcing it out a lot faster than you can blow in.

Also the idea of inflating it is pumping air into a contained spot against the pressures of the atmosphere and the elasticity of the balloon.

Hi. The above answers are OK but the real thing to consider is work. The deflating balloon releases stored energy exactly equal to what was put in. If the exit hole was much smaller, or if the balloon had a small leak, the released energy would still be the same.

the ballon is pushing out the air faster because the ballon is returning the its original size and shape. when you fill a ballon up with air, air goes in quickly until you have to start stretching, or blowing up the ballon. after that, you are now increasing the pressure inside the ballon. due to the elastisity of the ballon, it allows for a lot of pressure, or air to occupy the space that you have created with the forced air. when you let go of the ballon, the ballon will force all the air out if it until it reaches the orginal size as well as balancng the pressures of the surrounding atmosphere.

By inflating the balloon you are streching it and storing energy. The energy is returned as kinetic energy when you let the air out increasing its velocity.
