His contract was up and he choose not to renew it, along with Mimi who actually asked the producers to be let go earlier, and Phillip.
Other leavings Austin, Carrie, Patrick, and Frankie (I'm sure you already know about Jack and Jen).

He quit because he didn't like where the story line was going and wanted to move on to other things.
