Am looking at the Asus A7JC-RO79XL with 1.83Ghtz core duo 2 processor with X1600 256k graphics,2056MB 667 SDRAM, 100GB 7200RPM HDD for £1300 anyone familiar with Asus Notebooks?

I have heard of Asus and they are pretty good from what I've read online. They are pricey but so are their Desktop Motherboards they make. I used a motherboard from them and it never stopped working until I sold it 7 years later. I do receomend Acer also as a laptop company. I had one of their systems for 6 years before upgrading to one that will be able to power windows vista. I hope this helps some.

no im not but try to see if u can find a pentium or a AMD processor. And is good that is dual core. RAM is too exagerate u will need about 1024 mb of RAM. try a HP laptop or DELL or Alienwaare. they are the best and more recommended o and SONY the Vaio notebooks are awesome.

I'm afraid i've never heard of them, but £1300 is a lot for a laptop, have you looked at Toshiba, they have similar specifications or better for cheaper, HP are good and cheaper, and both are (to me) more well known names.
However, the specifications given are of a high standard, and most laptop manufacturers will be of the same quality. It has to be what is right for you.

I've certainly heard of Asus, but they are expensive. Try Gateway.

try a ferrari acer for about the same money check them out on ebay the model you want is a 4005 wlmi or 4006wlmi

go the toshiba route and you will never have any trouble... portege m300 superb machine,,(£1200) and i would like to see you get spares in the future if need be for any you mention....
