The site is constantly being used to target, research and select victims for predators...most recently, the idiot who killed the girl in the Colorado school. Why do you all allow your daughters to post peronal info making themselves and their families targets? Even if you child is innocent, the predators that use the site are not!

The site is worth 15 billion dollars...it is not going to "just go away" or be shut down.

It seems to me that I'm the only myspace supporter here. I am 15 and I have a myspace. Myspace is a good thing if you use it wisely. It's the stupid people who lie about their age or add people they don't know who are. For those of you who don't know there is a private feature to myspace. If you set your myspace to private, other people like predators won't be able to see your myspace. Here look at mine www.myspace.com/rachierach66. You see you can't see it because you're not my friend. Only my friends can see my profile and that's how myspace can be used correctly. So for those of you who say myspace should be shut down, well, if it is there will be the biggest protests ever and I will be extremely mad. So let's hope that doesn't happen. Myspace is just as dangerous as any messenging site or messenger. Or even, actually, this site itself. The media constantly puts a bad spin to myspace, which makes it so hard for parents to understand. Here's what I think. Parents should wisen up. They should make sure their kids' profiles are private. They should teach they're kids about internet safety. Because even if parents say their kids can have a myspace... kids will find away around anything.
I was wondering about the girl in Colorado... are you sure that was because of myspace?

It's a shame that a 'community' site gets used for such heinous purposes. They will ruin it for us all! I joined just to meet people in my area and make new friends- maybe find a girlfriend. I have no intentions of harming anyone or anything but if the site disappears I'll be bummed. I've met a few people on the site and now we're friends. It's not all bad.

I KNOW! I wonder why someone has shut down the site. There is always problem with nudity and porn type material- not to mention dateline caughting all those perverts wanting to have sex with 14 year old girls!!
I think people today have a very narrow "NOT MY CHILD" attitude which prevents them from seeing the bigger pictures.
I am going back to school for my master in teaching and it seems that one of the biggest problems in a child social development is the parents!
Not MY kid, he would never say or do that!!!

I know! My space is not even that good! Its not worth putting your life at risk for...its ridicules. I wish people will see that this is just another fad....but trust me, it will get out of style. They should do something about the predators though... i will not say anything too cruel... but I wish they could round all for the sickos up, and throw the on an island far far away.

don't let kids have computers in thier rooms. it worse than letting 3 boys stay over with your daughter.
