if it is web-based e-mail then go to that webpage from any internet browser

for instance to access aol, from a computer that is logged on to the internet via free wifi just go to www.aol.com and sign in using your email address as the user name

there are lots of other options also,. but hopefully that will get you thinking in the right direction
