Doctors say you should wait 6 weeks. It really all depends on you recovery after birth and how you feel. I felt I was ready just after 2 weeks, and everything for me was fine. I didn't have any pain or problems.
I did have a fairly easy delivery and only needed one stich, I think if it would have been worse I definatly would have waited. I think if you feel okay give it a try if you feel like you need to stop than STOP. I simply explained to my husband that if i felt uncomfortable at all we would have to stop and he completely understood.

I waited a long time!! I think more because I was afraid to have sex. I had to have an episiotomy so I had stiches and let me tell you it was painful, so over all even when the doctor gave me the ok after 6 weeks and the stiches had dissolved already, I still waited a while after that because I was afraid it was going to hurt. It didn't but I would have to say maybe about 10 weeks.

The doctor will say wait until 4-6 weeks. I think (can't recall exactly) that we had full sex about a month after the birth. Just go easy on her...it takes a while...
Don't forget that there are other ways to play too!

Doctors say to wait 6 weeks or untill you feel comfortable enough to have sex. When my son was only 4 weeks old me and his daddy started back up but after my daughter was born me and her daddy had it 6 weeks after she was born. It really just depends on how you are feeling.

We waited 6 weeks and then had to do it every night after that because I scarred very tightly and needed to be "stretched". I am glad we didn't try to do it early, if I hadn't been warned by the doctor I would have been afraid to ever have sex again.

I waited a long time, I had a C-section and any pressure on my stomach hurt. And I just held out on him because that's all I heard WHEN WHEN WHEN. But after 6 weeks you should be fine, just be for warned that it will hurt a little.

About 3-4 weeks with both of my children. But, know this....you are very fertile for a few months after giving birth. I got pregnant when my baby was 12 weeks old. No one told me this little hint until AFTER I got pregnant!

The doctor will tell you 4-6 weeks because you sometimes bleed for that long or maybe had to get stitches. It all depends ,alot of the time, on your body.
